I shot a commercial for Fox Sports Net. It is part of their “Stall Guy” campaign. In my spot, the unseen baseball fanatic in the bathroom stall gets so excited about baseball that he whips wads of toilet paper at me like a pitcher would throw brush-back pitches at a batter.
I look dashing in my only non-tuxedo-related public appearance in a bow tie.
For me, the coolest thing about this shoot is that the director is a comedy hero of mine: Christopher Guest. I first became a fan when I heard him do his impression of Mr. Rogers on the National Lampoon albums. He spent a year or two on “Saturday Night Live” in the early 80s. He has gained cult fame as an actor/writer in “Spinal Tap”, and more recently as the writer/director/actor in “Waiting For Guffman” and “Best In Show”. Now he directs commercials for fun.
Anyway, it was really interesting to spend a couple days observing and working with someone like him.
