We wrapped the night shoot of the Chrysler PT Cruiser commercial at 1:30am. I drove home, slept for 2 hours, then went to the Los Angeles airport. My 6:30am flight was delayed. Once we were eventually loaded onto the plane, they told us that there was a delay in Chicago. Therefore, we were going to taxi away from the gate and sit on the tarmac for 4 1/2 hours until the problem in Chicago cleared up. Or… we could get off now.
I had to get to JR’s Last Laugh Comedy Club in Erie, PA for two shows tonight and two Saturday. The club already was kind enough to let me out of Thursday’s show on short notice to shoot the Chrysler commercial. Now it looked like I might not make tonight’s shows.
I deplaned, found a flight that would go through Dallas to Cleveland. From there, I would ride in the club’s limo to Erie.
I got in the limo at 6:30pm. We estimated that we would be in Erie at 8:20pm. Since the show was scheduled to start at 7:30, we were cutting it close.
Ed the limo guy got us to the club at 8:15. I walked in, ordered a coke and a water, and used the restroom. Five minutes later I was onstage. The audiences made it worth while. They were GREAT!
I got up the next day and went to the mall with one of the other comedians, so I could buy clothes. I gave up on my luggage back in Dallas. I was told it was going to spend the weekend in Pittsburgh (my original destination). Two more great shows Saturday.
I got up Sunday morning and caught a ride with my comedian/chauffeur to Pittsburgh. It was there that they told me my luggage is actually in Los Angeles. It was. And at 4:00pm Sunday, so was I! Just in time to get a good night’s sleep before my 7:00am call Monday morning for Day Two of the Chrysler PT Cruiser shoot!
